storytelling
I compose music that helps tell stories.
From film and television to theatre, advertising and children's media, I collaborate closely with directors, producers and storytellers to create music that brings emotion, depth and connection to every project. Every score begins with understanding the heart of a story—finding its rhythm, colour and voice—before crafting music that feels authentic to its world. Whether writing for full orchestra, producing contemporary soundscapes or creating intimate themes for a single instrument, my goal is always the same: to write music that audiences feel as much as they hear.
After graduating from the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester, I spent over a decade performing as a session musician, touring internationally with orchestras and artists at venues including the Royal Albert Hall, Dubai Opera House, OVO Hydro Arena and the Isle of Wight Festival. Alongside performing, I developed a parallel career composing, producing and sound designing for stage & screen.
Moving to New Zealand in 2023 felt less like starting somewhere new and more like coming home. I first connected with Aotearoa as a teenager through an exchange with the National Youth Drama School, a relationship that has continued ever since and remains an important part of my creative life.
Today, I divide my time between composing for screen, stage and commercial projects, collaborating with artists, and creating music that serves stories with honesty, imagination and purpose.
